Brett Ladendorf founded Burana Advisors in March 2008. While setting up the consultancy, he also served as an Associate Portfolio Manager for the investment boutique, Know Your Options Inc. There Brett worked with the Portfolio Manager to manage a non-directional, short volatility options strategy. At Know Your Options he also coached, educated, and advised investors on how to implement various options strategies to either reduce risk or increase yield in their portfolios.

Prior to founding Burana, Brett served as an internal credit consultant to the nation’s leading underwriter of vendor lease financing, Banc of America Leasing & Capital LLC. This engagement involved forecasting loan losses, defining portfolio assimilation risk, and evaluating credit for underwriting purposes.

From 2002 to 2005 Brett worked in commodities sales & trading roles as well as in middle office risk management. He also performed due diligence on commodity trading advisors and trading system managers while working at the futures commission merchant, R.J. Obrien & Associates.

From 1999 to 2002, Brett worked in finance project management in the telecommunications industry. The focus was to deliver profitable infrastructure solutions by developing pricing strategies, by initiating feasibility studies, and by focusing on core enterprise strengths of network data products. In this operating capacity he gained exposure to post-merger product and organizational integration and to management level decision-making at two highly leveraged telecommunications companies.

Brett received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and an MBA in Finance, Accounting, & Econometrics from the University Of Chicago Booth School of Business.
